BGX Tournament Rules

1v1 Tournaments

  • Super Smash Bros Ultimate - Nintendo Switch

    • Saturday, July 29th @ 1:00 PM

    • 1v1, single elimination

    • Download Full Rules PDF

    • $10 buy-in fee, If odd number of competitors, assign a random bye per round (a single competitor cannot be assigned more than one bye per tournament)

      • 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will split the $500 cash prize

        • 1st - $300

        • 2nd - $150

        • 3rd - $50

  • Mortal Kombat 11 – Xbox One

    • Saturday, July 29th @ 6:00 PM

    • 1v1, single elimination

    • If odd number of competitors, assign a random bye per round (a single competitor cannot be assigned more than one bye per tournament)

  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Switch

    • Saturday, July 29th @ 7:00 PM

    • $10-buy in fee, 1st place will receive half the prize money

      • 2nd and 3rd place will receive medals and prizes

    • Players will compete 1v1, single elimination (If more than 40 players enter, players will compete 4 player, top two moving on)

    • Players will have 1 minute to select their player and kart

    • Levels will be randomly selected, 150 CC

    • Best of 2 races (3rd race if tie)

    • If odd number of competitors, assign a random bye per round (a single competitor cannot be assigned more than one bye per tournament)

    • Character Restrictions: Players will not be allowed to use any of the gold plated variants (include Gold Mario, the gold kart, glider or wheels)

  • Super Mario 3D World Challenge - Wii U

    • Saturday, July 29th @ 3:30 PM

    • 1v1, single elimination

    • If odd number of competitors, assign a random bye per round (a single competitor cannot be assigned more than one bye per tournament)

    • Random levels will be selected for game play.

    • Players will race to the finish flag, player with the highest score will move to next round.

      • If more than 30 players, tournament will switch to 4 player game​

  • Injustice 2- Xbox One

    • Saturday, July 29th @ 1:30 PM

    • 1v1, single elimination

    • Random levels will be selected for matches

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 - Xbox 360

    • Saturday, July 29th @ 6:30 PM

    • $10-buy in fee, 1st place will receive half the prize money, 2nd and 3rd place will receive medals and prizes.

    • Players will compete 1v1, single elimination 

    • Format: Team Deathmatch (split screen)

    • Battle Map: Hijacked

    • Time Limit: 5 minutes

    • Kill Count: 10 kills (or most kills at the end of the match)

    • Load-Outs: Modifiable Preset Classes. Each player will have 60 seconds before the match begins to customize/change any preset class.

Doubles Tournaments

  • Wii Sports Tennis Doubles - Wii

    • Saturday, July 29th @ 2:00 PM

    • Players must have a team of 2 to participate

    • 1v1, double elimination

High Score Tournaments

  • Wii Sports Bowling - Power Throws - Wii

    • Saturday, July 29th @ 8:30 PM

    • Highest scores win 1st, 2nd and 3rd place

    • Players will bowl a quick Power Throw game, the highest total score will be tallied.

  • Trombone Champ - Mac

    • Saturday, July 29th @ 4:00 PM

    • Highest scores win 1st, 2nd and 3rd place

    • Players will play through the same song (selected at random), the highest total score will be tallied.

​

  • Sonic Adventure 2 - Dreamcast

    • Saturday, July 29th @ 6:30 PM

    • Highest scores win 1st, 2nd and 3rd place

    • Players will complete the first sonic level (City Escape) and compete for the highest score.

Arcade Tournaments

  • Arcade - Donkey Kong

    • Saturday, July 30th @ 1:30 PM

    • 1v1, single elimination

    • Players have until a game-over to accumulate their highest possibly score.

    • Top 3 players will win 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

 

  • Arcade - Frogger

    • Saturday, July 30th @ 4:00 PM

    • 1v1, single elimination

    • Players have until a game-over to accumulate their highest possibly score.

    • Top 3 players will win 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

  • Hungry Hungry Hippos 

    • Saturday, July 29th @ 4:00 PM

    • 4 player versus, double elimination

    • 4 players will compete to nab the most points (marbles) than the other players.

    • Top two players move to the next round​
